The energy consumption of our hotel is about 50% below the requirements of the latest thermal insulation ordinance.

We achieve this through the use of geothermal energy for heating and cooling, solar energy for domestic hot water heating and photovoltaics for electricity generation paired with a higher insulation of the building envelope and triple-glazed windows.

We pay special attention to natural materials for the hotel equipment.

With fresh ideas for the protection of our environment we go one step ahead.

Since 2016, for example, the Achalm has been home to four bee colonies that are busy producing honey. This can be purchased at the hotel.

The bees feel very comfortable on our adjacent orchards and contribute to the production of fresh fruit, which we process in various ways. For example, they produce homemade jams and often the apples laid out in the hotel also come from our own trees.
